As a guideline to help you make the right choice to suit your style and your pocket we include the South African Tourism Grading star rating of each establishment as well as descriptions and pictures.  In order to cater for all tastes and budgets, we do offer non graded accommodation – this will recognisable by N/A instead of stars next to the Tourism Grading details.

We enable you to make an accommodation booking in a few simple steps, which in the past would have taken hours, days or even weeks of you searching for relevant accommodation – then sending a fax or an email to check how much it would cost and if there were rooms available – then waiting for a response – then deciding how you were going to pay - now it is just a few simple steps:

1.    Tell us where you want to stay - when are you want to arrive – when you want to leave  – how many adults and children require accommodation

2.    We return a response showing what we have available to match your requirements and the price

3.    You choose the establishment best suits your needs and we tell you how much it will be – all inclusive – no surprises

4.    We take a 25% non refundable deposit by credit card which secures your booking

5.    We send you an email and an sms confirming all the booking details

6.    You arrive at the establishment and they are expecting you!

PS:    Some establishments require a further deposit or full payment before your arrival, especially in peak season; the establishment’s Terms and Conditions are viewable during your booking.  To collect the balance of payment – the establishment will contact you directly.

Definitions of Accommodation Offered (taken from the SA Tourism Grading Council)

Bed & Breakfast

Bed & Breakfast or B&B accommodation is provided in a family (private) home and the owner or manager lives in the house or on the property.  Breakfast must be served.  Bathroom facilities may or may not be en-suite or private.  In general, the guest shares the public areas with the host family.

Guest House

A guest house can be an existing home, a renovated home or a building that has been specifically designed to provide overnight accommodation.  A guest house will have public areas for the exclusive use of its guests.  A guest house is a commercial enterprise and as such the owner or manager may live on the property.

Boutique Hotel

A Boutique Hotel is a term used to describe intimate, usually luxurious or quirky hotels.  Boutique Hotels differentiate themselves from larger chain hotels by providing personalised accommodation and services/facilities.

Backpacker or Hostel

A Backpacker or Hostelling establishment is an accommodation facility that provides communal facilities, including dormitories yet may offer a range of alternative sleeping arrangements.  

Hotel

A hotel provides accommodation to the travelling public, has a reception area, and offers at least a 'breakfast room' or communal eating area.  In general a hotel makes food and beverage services available to guests;  these may be outsourced or provided by the hotel.

Game Lodge

A  Game Lodge is an accommodation facility located in natural surroundings. The rates charged are usually inclusive of all meals and the experience offered at the lodge, with game drives, battlefield tours, etc.

County House

A Country House is a large guest house, usually situated in natural, peaceful surroundings such as near a nature reserve, a forest, a lake etc.  It offers all the services of a hotel, including dinner.

Self Catering

A house, cottage, chalet, bungalow, flat, studio, apartment, villa, houseboat, tent or any accommodation where facilities and equipment are provided for guests to cater for themselves.  The facilities should be adequate to cater for the maximum advertised number of residents the facility can accommodate.

House Boat

A House Boat is a boat that has been designed to be used primarily for accommodation and is rented as a self catering unit.

Resort

A Resort is an establishment operated by a single company which provides their guests with everything they require on the premises, such as food, drink, lodging, sports, entertainment, and shopping.
