What type of accommodation do you offer?

SAOTS offers a diverse range of accommodation in South Africa.  We include Hotels, Boutique Hotels, Game/Safari Lodges, Luxury Tents, Villas, Apartments, Country Houses, Guest Houses, Bed and Breakfasts and Self Catering. We offer both star graded and non graded accommodation.

Do I need a credit card to make a booking on SAOTS?

In order to book online you will need a valid credit card - we accept Visa, MasterCard, Diners or American Express.

How do I secure my booking?

SAOTS does not allow provisional bookings.  You check availability and prices for the dates you wish to travel then pay a 50% deposit to secure your booking using any one of the major credit cards:
 
Is this secure?

Yes, SAOTS uses a payment gateway company called iVeri which is backed by Nedbank.  

All your data is protected by a secure socket layer (SSL) encryption which is visible by a small padlock which displays on your internet browser.   

Credit Card details are captured directly by iVeri and are transmitted over the secure SSL connection onto the relevant bank.  SAOTS does not have access to your credit card details.

What amount is taken off my card upon booking, and what is it for?

When you book with SAOTS, we collect a 50% deposit. This amount will be used as a part payment/deposit on your accommodation.  The balance of your accommodation payment, as shown on your booking confirmation, will be collected from you by the establishment in line with their terms and conditions – these can be viewed during the booking process.  There are no extras or booking fees – our service to you is free.  

Who receives my money?

SAOTS is the merchant for all accommodation transaction.  A 50% deposit is taken by SAOTS the balance of payment is collected directly from the establishment relevant to their individual Terms and Conditions.

Do I get a confirmation of my booking and payment?

Yes, you will receive a credit card confirmation by email directly from iVeri and a confirmation of reservation and payment by email and SMS from SAOTS.  

I am getting a credit card error while booking, what can I do?

There may be some reasons why your credit card transaction will not go through. Please check the following and try again:
There may be insufficient funds to cover the transaction being booked or there may be a problem with your card, please check with your bank.

Your details that you have completed may be incorrect.

After checking this - try again.

Can I cancel or change my booking?

50% of your deposit is non- refundable, thereafter the terms and conditions of the establishment which you have booked shall apply.  Should you wish to change your dates this is at the discretion of the individual establishment – please contact them directly.

No accommodation is showing for my request?

There may be no accommodation available for the dates you requested or we may not have any establishments in the location you are searching.  Try select alternative dates.

Do I need to book in advance?

We would recommend that you book as far in advance as possible in order to avoid disappointment and to make sure you get a room at the establishment you would like to stay at. Many establishments book up well in advance during high season, weekends and holiday periods or during special events.

Can you give me directions and contact details before I book?

We provide a location map on the detailed description of each establishment. The full address, telephone and email details for the establishment will be provided on your confirmation.
